The Judici al Appointments Commission (JAC) will be launc hing a selection exercise on 6th October to recomm end one candidate for the post of Judge Advocate G eneral.

The seminar
\n The Judicial Office is organising a pre-app lication seminar that will take place online via M icrosoft Teams on Thursday 17th September 2026 (5-6pm).

\n \n

The seminar ai ms to help applicants be better prepared to make a n application and to receive up-to-date guidance a nd advice on the JAC’s selection process. As well as the JAC\, you will also hear from the current J udge Advocate General\, Judge Alan Large.

Who should attend?
\n Previous judicial experience (minimum 30 day s) is required for this role. Applications are par ticularly welcome from under-represented groups (w omen\, ethnic minority candidates\, disabled candi dates\, or those with a solicitor background).
