Fee Paid Disability Qualified Tribunal Member of the First-tier Tribunal, Social Entitlement Chamber (Social Security and Child Support Tribunal)
The Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) will be launching a selection exercise on 13 March 2024 to recruit 200 fee paid disability qualified Tribunal members of the First-tier Tribunal, Social Entitlement Chamber (Social Security and Child Support Tribunal).
The seminar
This seminar is organised by Judicial Office and will take place online via Microsoft Teams on Tuesday 27 February from 5-5.30pm for those interested in applying for appointment.
The seminar aims to help applicants be better prepared to make an application and to receive up-to-date guidance and advice on the JAC’s selection process. As well as a JAC representative, you will also hear from a Regional Tribunal Judge and a Disability Qualified Member to explain the role.
Who should attend?
A person is eligible for appointment if they are a person, other than a registered medical practitioner, who is experienced in dealing with the physical or mental needs of disabled persons because they work with disabled persons in a professional or voluntary capacity; or are themselves disabled.
Applications are particularly welcome from under-represented groups (women, ethnic minority candidates and disabled candidates). Training is provided for all appointed members.
