Demystifying the judicial application process - a seminar for CILEX Members

Registration is closed for this event
A bespoke seminar which will focus on demystifying the judicial application process and advising on how best to present experience as a member of CILEX.

The updated Judicial Diversity Strategy commits to encouraging members of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX) to apply for more judicial roles (p20, Judicial Diversity and Inclusion Update) and this bespoke seminar has been planned to deliver this commitment.

The seminar

This seminar is organised by Judicial Office and will take place online via Microsoft Teams on 7 March at 5pm – 6pm exclusively for CILEX Members thinking about applying for judicial appointment.
The seminar aims to help applicants understand what they should consider and how to prepare to make an application, the importance of resilience, and to receive up-to-date guidance and advice on the JAC’s selection process. You will hear from Judicial Office holders and a representative from the JAC.

Who should attend?

CILEX Lawyers who are interested in applying for a judicial role in the future.

Applicants do need to have the necessary five years of knowledge and experience yet but should be at the point in their careers where they are considering next steps.

Applications are particularly welcome from under-represented groups (women, ethnic minority candidates, and disabled candidates).

If you have any queries regarding the seminar or would like to ask a question to the panel in advance, please email: JudicialHRDiversityEvents@judiciary.uk
