Judge of the First-tier Tribunal: Health, Education and Social Care (HESC) Pre-Application Seminar 2024
The Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) will be launching a selection exercise in mid-October to recruit Salaried First-tier Tribunal Judges.
This pre-application seminar is aimed at candidates interested in the Health, Education and Social Care Chamber.
The seminar
The Judicial Office is organising a pre-application seminar that will take place online via Microsoft Teams on Tuesday 24th September 2024 (5-6pm).
The seminar aims to help applicants be better prepared to make an application and to receive up-to-date guidance and advice on the JAC’s selection process. As well as the JAC, you will also hear from the Deputy Chamber Presidents and serving Tribunal Judges.
Who should attend?
Applications are invited from solicitors qualified in England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland, barristers in England and Wales or Northern Ireland, advocates in Scotland, and Fellows of the Chartered institute of Legal Executives. Candidates must have 5 years post qualification legal experience and are expected to have at least 30 sitting days as a judge or in a quasi-judicial capacity.
Applications are particularly welcome from under-represented groups (women, ethnic minority candidates, disabled candidates and solicitors).
Training is provided for all appointed.
