District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) Pre-Application Seminar 2024
The Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) will be launching a selection exercise on 19 March 2024 to recruit 30 District Judges in the Magistrates’ Courts.
The seminar
This seminar is organised by Judicial Office and will take place online via Microsoft Teams on 5 March at 5pm – 6pm for those interested in applying for appointment.
The seminar aims to help applicants be better prepared to make an application and to receive up-to-date guidance and advice on the JAC’s selection process. You will hear from Judicial Office holders and a representative from the JAC.
Who should attend?
Judicial office holders and all lawyers (including CILEX lawyers) who have five years’ legal post qualification experience.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate a minimum of five years’ substantial knowledge and experience in criminal law and procedure.
Applications are particularly welcome from under-represented groups (women, ethnic minority candidates, disabled candidates and solicitors). Training is provided for all appointed.
