Appointment of two new Senior Coroners and five new Area Coroners
The Chief Coroner, His Honour Judge Thomas Teague KC, has welcomed the appointment of two new Senior Coroners and five new Area Coroners in England and Wales. They are:
- Lincolnshire County Council, as the relevant authority, have appointed Paul Smith as senior coroner for the Lincolnshire coroner area
- Sheffield City Council, as the relevant authority, have appointed Tanyka Rawden, as senior coroner for the South Yorkshire (West) coroner area
- Warrington Borough Council, as the relevant authority, have appointed Victoria Davies as area coroner for the Cheshire coroner area
- Lancashire County Council, as the relevant authority, have appointed Catherine Bisset, as area coroner for the Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen coroner area
- Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council, as the relevant authority, have appointed Patricia Morgan, as area coroner for the South Wales Central coroner area
- Hull City Council, as the relevant authority, have appointed Lorraine Harris, as area coroner for the East Riding and Hull coroner area
- Suffolk County Council, as the relevant authority, have appointed Darren Stewart, as area coroner for the Suffolk coroner area
All appointments were made following an open competition and after receiving the consent of the Chief Coroner and Lord Chancellor.
