Her Honour Judge Helen Mary Black retires as a Circuit Judge with effect from 28 March 2023.
Background information
Her Honour Judge Black was admitted as a Solicitor in 1982. She was appointed a Deputy District Judge in 1995, a District Judge of the Principal Registry of the Family Division in 2000, a Recorder in 2005 and was a Family Course Tutor at the Judicial College from 2003 to 2012. She was appointed a Circuit Judge in 2007 and authorised to sit as a High Court Judge and the Designated Family Judge for Portsmouth in 2015. She was a Court of Protection Course Tutor at the Judicial College from 2016 to 2023.
