Circuit Bench Retirement: Thorp
His Honour Judge Ian Simon Thorp retires as a Circuit Judge with effect from 24 March 2023.
Background information
His Honour Judge Thorp was called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 1988. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2002, a Legally Qualified Member of The Criminal Injuries Compensation Appeals Panel in 2007 and a District Judge in 2008. He was appointed as a Circuit Judge in 2013, was a Family Course Tutor at the Judicial College from 2021 to 2023 and was authorised to sit as a High Court Judge from 2022 to 2023.
