Circuit Judge Appointment: Auty
The King has appointed Michael Auty KC to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Alex Chalk KC MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the Midlands Circuit, based at Nottingham Crown Court with effect from 16 October 2023.
Background Information
Michael Auty will be known as His Honour Judge Michael Auty KC. He was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 1987, called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 1990, and took Silk in 2013. He was appointed as an Assistant Coroner in 2018, and as a Recorder in 2020.
