Circuit Judge Appointment: Chawla
The King has appointed Neil Chawla to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Alex Chalk KC MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the Midlands Circuit, based at Wolverhampton Crown Court with effect from 16 October 2023.
Background Information
Neil Chawla will be known as His Honour Judge Chawla. He was called to the Bar (Lincoln’s Inn) in 2000 and elected as a Bencher in 2019. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2020.
