Circuit Judge Appointment: Grout
The King has appointed Christopher Grout to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Alex Chalk KC MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Woolwich Crown Court with effect from 9 October 2023.
Background Information
Christopher Grout will be known as His Honour Judge Grout. He was called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 2007. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2019, as a Deputy District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) in 2022, and as a Recorder in 2023.
