Circuit Judge Appointment: Hartley
The King has appointed Catherine Hartley to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Alex Chalk KC MP and the former Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
The former Lord Chief Justice deployed her to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Guildford Crown Court with effect from 13 November 2023.
Catherine Hartley will be known as Her Honour Judge Hartley. She was called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 2006. She was appointed as a Tribunal Judge in 2019, as an Adjudicator in 2019, as a Deputy District Judge in 2019, as a District Judge in 2020, and as a Recorder in 2020.
