Circuit Judge Appointment: Malek

The King has appointed Mohammed Asif Malek to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Brandon Lewis CBE MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon. 

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed he to the North Eastern Circuit, based at Bradford Combined Court with effect from 10 October 2022.  

Background Information

Mohammed Asif Malek will be known as His Honour Judge Malek. He was called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 1998 and admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 2002. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2010, a Judge of the First Tier Tribunal (Tax Chamber) in January 2019,  a District Judge in December 2019, and a Recorder in January 2022.
