Court of Appeal: Retirement of Lord Justice Launcelot Henderson

Lord Justice Launcelot Henderson retires as a Lord Justice of Appeal with effect from 21 November 2021. 

Background Information

Sir Launcelot (Dinadan James) Henderson (70) was called to the Bar (Lincoln’s Inn) in 1977, took Silk in 1995 and was elected a Bencher in 2004. He was Standing Junior Counsel to the Inland Revenue from 1992 to 1995, appointed a deputy High Court Judge in 2001 and a High Court Judge (Chancery Division) in 2007. He was also appointed a Chairman of the Competition Appeal Tribunal in 2007. He was a member of the Civil Procedure Rules Committee from 2009 to 2012 and chaired the Judges’ Council Standing Committee on Judicial Library Provision from 2008 to 2013.

He was appointed as a Lord Justice of Appeal in 2016 and made a Privy Counsellor in 2017.
