District Judge Appointment: Joy

The King has appointed David Joy to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Dominic Raab MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon. 

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the North Eastern Circuit, based at Huddersfield County Court, with effect from Tuesday 3 January 2023.

Background Information

David Joy will be known as District Judge Joy. He was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 2006. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2019 and as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the Health, Education and Social Care Chamber in 2021.
