High Court Appointment: Bennathan QC

The Queen is pleased to approve the appointment of a Justice of the High Court. This appointment will take effect from 11 January 2022.  It is anticipated that further appointments will be announced.

The candidate approved as a High Court Judge is Joel Bennathan QC.

This appointment will fill a vacancy in the High Court following elevations to the Court of Appeal and confirmed retirements. Joel Bennathan QC

Joel Bennathan QC, aged 60 will be known as The Honourable Mr Justice Bennathan. He was Called to the Bar (Middle Temple) in 1985 and took Silk in 2006.  

He will take up appointment on 11 January 2022.

The Lord Chief Justice will assign Joel Bennathan QC to the Queen’s Bench Division.
