High Court Appointment: Edwin Johnson QC

The Queen is pleased to approve the appointment of a Justice of the High Court. This appointment will take effect from 1 October 2021.

The candidate approved as a High Court Judge is Edwin Geoffrey Johnson QC.

This appointment will fill a vacancy in the High Court following elevations to the Court of Appeal and confirmed retirements. Edwin Geoffrey Johnson QC  

Edwin Geoffrey Johnson QC, aged 58, will be known as The Honourable Mr Justice Edwin Johnson. He was Called to the Bar (L) in 1987 and took Silk in 2006. He was appointed as a Deputy High Court Judge in 2017.

He will take up appointment on 1 October 2021.

The Lord Chief Justice will assign Edwin Geoffrey Johnson QC to the Chancery Division.
