Salaried/Fee-paid Employment Judge of the Employment Tribunals (England & Wales) – application seminar

The roles

The Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) will be launching two selection exercises over the autumn.

The first exercise will aim to recruit 50 fee-paid Employment Judges in England and Wales. Registration for the first stage qualifying test opens on 5 October 2021 and closes on 19 October 2021.

The second exercise will aim to recruit 50 full time equivalent salaried Employment Judges in England and Wales. This will launch in early November 2021 (date to be confirmed soon on the JAC website applications page).

The seminar

The Judicial Diversity Committee is holding an online seminar via Microsoft Teams on Wednesday 6 October (4.45pm registration for a 5pm start) for those interested in applying for appointment as either a salaried or fee-paid Employment Judge of the Employment Tribunals (England & Wales).

The seminar aims to help applicants be better prepared to make an application and to receive up-to-date guidance and advice on the JAC’s selection process. You will hear from Judge Barry Clarke (President of the Employment Tribunals (England and Wales)), Regional Employment Judge Joanna Wade and a representative from the JAC.

Who should attend?

Both competitions will be open to candidates who do not have previous judicial experience.

Five years legal post qualification experience is needed.
