Seminar Advert:
The Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) will be launching a selection exercise in June to recruit 1 Circuit Judge for the Employment Appeal Tribunals.
Circuit Judges sitting as judges of the Employment Appeal Tribunal usually sit in London, although they may on occasion be asked to sit in Cardiff or Edinburgh.
Circuit judge has a significant role in overseeing and making decisions on complex or high-value employment disputes, including claims related to employment rights, discrimination, unfair dismissal, and other employment-related issues.
The seminar
The Judicial Office is organising a pre-application seminar that will take place online via Microsoft Teams on Wednesday 21st May 2025 5-6pm.
The seminar aims to help applicants be better prepared to make an application and to receive up-to-date guidance and advice on the JAC’s selection process. As well as the JAC, you will also hear from the President of the Employment Appeal Tribunal and current Circuit Judges.
Who should attend?
Candidates are expected to have at least 30 sitting days as a judge or in a quasi-judicial capacity.
Applications are particularly welcome from under-represented groups (women, ethnic minority candidates, disabled candidates and solicitors).
Training is provided for all appointed.
